Taiwan Coffee Festival wins 2025 MUSE Design Gold Award, showcasing the unique charm of Gukeng coffee
(中央社訊息服務20251104 17:47:55)The Taiwan Coffee Festival was once again recognized with the Gold Award in the “Events - Festivals/Carnivals” category at the 2025 MUSE Design Awards. This recognition not only highlights Yunlin County’s years of dedication to transforming the local industry and cultivating coffee brand culture, but also further demonstrates the unique brand identity and cultural charm of Gukeng Township as the birthplace of Taiwanese coffee.
The 2024 Taiwan Coffee Festival, themed “Gathering for Good Coffee,” focuses on the development of Gukeng’s coffee industry. Driven by a curatorial vision, the festival aims to embody brand values and deepen cultural awareness. Bringing together 96 brands from nine major cities across Taiwan, the event will unfold in a design extravaganza that blends international friendship, family outings, and life-affirming connections. This event is not only a tribute to local coffee culture, but also an innovative attempt to reinterpret Taiwanese agriculture and lifestyle aesthetics in an international context.
County Magistrate Chang Li-shan (張麗善) stated that the Taiwan Coffee Festival not only successfully brought together returning youth, music creators, and emerging brands, but also fostered a cultural atmosphere imbued with humanistic warmth and creative depth, transforming the countryside into a fountain of creativity. The event attracted large crowds and skillfully fostered a deep dialogue between coffee, design, and emotion. Now in its 23rd year, the Taiwan Coffee Festival has become Yunlin’s most representative cultural industry event, fully demonstrating Gukeng’s brand status as the “Hometown of Taiwanese Coffee.”
Director of the Department of Agriculture, Wei Sheng-de (魏勝德), stated that the Taiwan Coffee Festival not only possesses a high degree of aesthetics and spatial narrative power, but also balances cultural depth and emotional warmth, setting a precedent for Taiwanese local festivals to successfully reach international prominence. He expressed his gratitude to the curatorial team for their collaboration with the Yunlin County Government in actively promoting local brand upgrading and agricultural transformation. As Gukeng Coffee makes its mark on the international stage, the county government will continue to strengthen its brand identity, ensuring that the charm and cultural value of Gukeng Coffee continue to spread throughout the world.
The Department of Agriculture further stated that the 2025 Taiwan Coffee Festival will be held at the Gukeng Green Tunnel from Nov. 1 to 2 and Nov. 7 to 9. The five-day event is expected to draw crowds and generate significant buzz. By integrating design, culture, agriculture, and the industrial chain, the festival will continue to promote the internationalization of the Gukeng coffee brand, create diverse business opportunities, enhance market competitiveness, and comprehensively boost the local economy, injecting new vitality and boundless hope into Taiwan’s coffee industry.
