As Taiwan Hosts 2025 World Masters Games Jehovah’s Witnesses Spread Good News from the Bible
(中央社訊息服務20250527 10:47:34)
The 2025 World Masters Games in Taipei and New Taipei began on May 17th, attracting over 25,000 athletes from both domestic and international regions. Participants continue to challenge themselves and demonstrate their enthusiasm for life and fitness at this grand sports event. Beyond the thrilling events on the field, the areas around the venue present another unique sight. Throughout the duration of this event, Jehovah’s Witnesses will be displaying Bible literature and sharing a message of hope, capturing the interest of those nearby.
Jehovah’s Witnesses from all over Taiwan are ready to participate in this year’s most anticipated sports event in a special way, with over 1,100 volunteers taking turns to showcase literature. Inside the sports venue, the enthusiastic cheers of spectators reverberate through the air as athletes push to their limits. Outside the venue, literature on mobile carts are quietly displayed, inviting passersby to explore and browse, creating an interesting contrast to the rowdy atmosphere within the arena.
This arrangement not only allows people to enjoy the sports event but also nourishes their inner strength. Jehovah’s Witnesses are ready to offer a warm smile, a listening ear, and answers from the Scriptures to anyone who asks life’s big questions about existence, hope for dead loved ones, and the future.
Yifan Wang, local spokesman for Jehovah’s Witnesses, noted that many people at large sporting events are searching for something that will bring them lasting peace and happiness. “People come to these events because they want a break from the pressures of daily living. They come to have fun and to forget about their troubles for a while,” said Wang. “We’re here to let them know that joy and peace doesn’t have to be just one day or even just a few days out of the year.”
The Bible-based publications displayed on the carts cover timely topics such as family happiness, how to find success and offer free Bible courses—all available in Chinese and other select languages. Anyone is welcome to take this free literature.
Zhicheng Liao, a volunteer from Taipei expressed that participating in the special literature display during the World Masters Games is both a privilege and deeply meaningful to him. This event allows him to connect with participants and spectators from around the world and he looks forward to having friendly conversations with those who stop by, sharing hope and comfort from the Bible. Smartphone in hand, he’s also ready to show people jw.org, the organization’s official website, and demonstrate how to easily access positive and uplifting content in more than 1,102 languages.
Liao stated, “During the event, volunteers from all over Taiwan will participate enthusiastically, expressing genuine interest and concern for people. Just as sports events aim to foster peace and exchange between nations, we hope to extend this atmosphere of unity and hope through our actions. Our goal is to help more people understand the Bible’s message of a future hope and its practical guidance for daily life, thereby creating a positive impact on individuals.”
Jehovah’s Witnesses and their mobile Bible-based literature displays have become a staple in major metropolitan areas worldwide and are often seen at rail and bus stations, airports, harbors, main streets, and large sporting events such as the 2025 World Masters Games.
