發稿時間:2024/08/22 15:01:59

(中央社訊息服務20240822 15:01:59)The Foundation for Yunus Social Business Taiwan has established the "Taichung Yunus Story House" in Guangfu New Village, Wufeng, Taichung. Through local revitalization and community integration models, the Story House promotes the "3ZERO" vision of 2006 Nobel Peace Prize laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus- zero net carbon emissions, zero poverty, and zero unemployment. During the summer break, the Story House hosted the Yunus Baby Boss—'Young Entrepreneurs'" event, revitalizing the old military dependents’ village houses and combining environmental sustainability crafts with financial literacy courses. This initiative aims to teach elementary school students about sustainable entrepreneurship and financial literacy, in collaboration with local businesses, to stimulate the community economy and enhance social impact.

The Taichung Yunus Story House, aligned with the 3ZERO vision, regularly organizes financial literacy and sustainable craft courses for parents and children, laying a strong educational foundation for young students. In July, the "Yunus Baby Boss—'Young Entrepreneurs'" event not only taught students the story of Professor Yunus founding Grameen Bank but also instilled the positive mindset that "everyone can change the world." The event featured Mr. Wei-Jen Su, Director of the Chinese Recreation Guidance Association who used gamified teaching methods to guide children through a simulated shopping market, helping them develop good money management habits. Local business instructors also contributed, with Ms. Yun-Tai Yang from " Old Goods Handmade Studio", a secondhand vintage store, teaching badge-making from repurposed secondhand items to give old objects new life. Ms. Yi-Shan Zheng, founder of LUCEO Café shared how to make desserts using household resources, and the Feng Chia University team, "再寵一次," demonstrated how to turn discarded event canvas into reusable bags.

After the event, parents expressed that "financial literacy and sustainability should be taught from a young age. I hope to support the Foundation for Yunus Social Business Taiwan in organizing more similar events or expanding them to other regions." Some children mentioned, "After learning the savings course, I know not to spend all my money at once and to keep track of my expenses."

Philippa Tsai, President of the Foundation for Yunus Social Business Taiwan, stated that the Taichung Yunus Story House meticulously designed the event to teach students environmental protection, plastic reduction, and the concepts of entrepreneurship and financial literacy from a young age, hoping to cultivate well-rounded talents with a future-oriented vision, moving toward Professor Yunus' 3ZERO vision. Juno Wang, CEO of the Foundation, emphasized that this event not only introduced children to Professor Yunus' global impact on poverty alleviation but also conveyed the spirit of dreaming big. To provide resources to families in need, several spots were reserved for children from economically disadvantaged families, emphasizing the importance of financial literacy and savings from a young age.

The Foundation for Yunus Social Business Taiwan and the Taichung Yunus Story House will continue to organize diverse sustainability activities and periodically hold financial literacy and sustainable entrepreneurship courses. On August 31st, the "Yunus Young Entrepreneurs Market" will take place, aiming to nurture more talents from a young age and create a world aligned with the 3ZERO vision.
