2nd Yunus Camp is now open for registration.

(中央社訊息服務20231127 09:35:19)At the beginning of this year, Foundation for Yunus Social Business Taiwan organized the Yunus Camp, which nearly 50 college students engaged themselves in the study of social innovation proposals surrounded by forests. They embraced the Grameen model to start businesses addressing social issues. Inspired by the success of the first Yunus Camp, the foundation is set to host the second edition from January 26 to 28, 2024, during the winter vacation. The camp aims to bring together young minds aged 18 to 28 who are passionate about social action and sustainability, encouraging them to collaborate in creating positive social impact in the Dongshi Forest.

Professor Muhammad Yunus, the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize laureate, once mentioned his participation in Boy Scout activities, emphasizing how learning through camps ignites students' enthusiasm and imagination for social action. Philippa Tsai, president of the Foundation for Yunus Social Business Taiwan, explained that the foundation continues to promote Professor Yunus's vision of zero carbon emissions, zero poverty, and zero unemployment. The three-day Yunus Camp is designed to allow more young people to learn about the concepts of social business, integrating ESG thinking to make business models more sustainable.

Juno Wang, CEO of the foundation, mentioned that the second Yunus Camp will invite outstanding social innovation organizations or social business in Taiwan to share how their social actions impact society and the environment. The camp will incorporate the Grameen model and the three-zero goals into discussions, with participants forming five-member groups to propose and discuss action plans. The goal is to collaboratively create a positive social impact and promote a cycle of goodness.

The registration for the 2nd Yunus Camp, organized by Foundation for Yunus Social Business Taiwan in 2024, is now open. Both participants and volunteers are being recruited simultaneously.
