Hualien Launches 24/7 Multilingual AI Customer Service System to Enhance Tourism Experience
(中央社訊息服務20251105 11:46:53)To give travelers better, faster, and more user-friendly access to tourism information, the Hualien County Government has launched the new “Hualien Travel AI Service” platform. Accessible at [Link], the system uses artificial intelligence and offers a multilingual interface. It provides 24-hour, year-round, real-time support. Both domestic and international visitors can easily check updated information about Hualien’s tourist sites, along with weather updates, transportation options, and travel advisories—anytime and anywhere.
County Mayor Hsu Chen-Wei emphasized that Hualien is known for its stunning natural landscapes and deep cultural heritage. In recent years, the county government has actively promoted digital transformation by integrating smart technology into tourism services. The launch of the “Hualien Travel Assistant” marks a key step in upgrading visitor support. It also supports international travelers arriving via the Hong Kong–Hualien direct route, as well as those who will travel on the upcoming Incheon–Hualien route, scheduled to launch on November 13, 2025.
The system currently supports Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Thai, and Cantonese. It combines many travel tools in one platform, including sightseeing guides, transportation tips, event updates, lodging options, and food recommendations. It also features deeper content such as detailed site overviews, Google Maps links for local businesses, and connections to tour packages. Travelers can interact with the system through text or natural language chat. The AI offers personalized suggestions in real time. Based on the user’s current location, the system can share accurate weather, directions, and travel tips, greatly improving both convenience and service quality.
Hualien Tourism Department Director-General Yu Ming-Hsun explained that the system has gone through several months of testing and optimization. It is now fully online. Users can find it by searching “Hualien Travel Assistant.” The platform not only helps individual travelers but also offers planning support for domestic and overseas travel agencies. The county government will analyze user behavior data to better understand visitor needs and trends. This insight will help guide tourism development in Hualien and support the creation of more traveler-centered itinerary planning tools. The goal is to make Hualien not only a dream destination, but also one of the most visitor-friendly places.
