(中央社訊息服務20250324 15:37:12)On March 23rd, the "2025 Slow Tour of Bamboo Shoots Fun - Bamboo Shoots 100-Table Feast" event was held at the Tafalong Square in Guangfu Township. County Magistrate Chen-Wei Hsu attended the event to promote the fresh seasonal bamboo shoots. The local feast featured 100 tables offering a variety of dishes incorporating local specialty agricultural products, allowing consumers to enjoy the region’s unique cuisine. In addition to harvesting, roasting, and peeling bamboo shoots, the event also included a local agricultural produce market and a display of new agricultural machinery, creating a lively atmosphere.
With the government's active support for sustainable development policies, Guangfu Township's organic and friendly farming certification area has surpassed 60 hectares, demonstrating a commitment to environmental and health concerns. Once used as building materials, arrow bamboo has now been transformed into a delectable delicacy. Today, freshly harvested bamboo shoots, known for their sweet and crisp taste, have become a popular spring feast enjoyed by both residents and visitors.
County Magistrate Hsu shared that every year in spring, Hualien is synonymous with bamboo shoots. Hualien's bamboo shoots come from Wanrong, and she also encouraged people to eat more seasonal fruits and vegetables from Hualien, especially vegetarian dishes. The bamboo shoot feast combines tourism, sightseeing, and experiential marketing. Agricultural promotion involves not only producers and consumers but also grassroots efforts. The Hualien County Government hopes to work with the Wanrong Township Office and local farmers to actively promote and introduce highland bamboo shoots to the national market, allowing everyone to taste these natural and delicious agricultural products.
With the full support of the Hualien County Government, local institutions such as the township office, the East District Branch of the Council of Agriculture, Hualien Agricultural Research and Extension Station, and the Hualien Branch of the Water Resources Agency have cooperated to promote and market bamboo shoots. Through exciting activities, they aim to spread the word and bring more people to taste and enjoy this spring delicacy. The event combines food and agriculture experiences with local delicacies, inviting people from all over the country to visit the bamboo shoot-producing areas and enjoy the freshest mountain and sea dishes while experiencing the fun of harvesting bamboo shoots.
On the day of the event, 100 tables were set up, offering seasonal bamboo shoots cooked in various ways, paired with local Hualien agricultural products, providing food lovers with a delicious bamboo shoot feast. In addition, there were experiences such as bamboo shoot roasting, peeling, a local agricultural produce market, and displays of new agricultural machinery, making it an ideal family-friendly event to explore the joys of rural life.
The Guangfu Township Office pointed out that Hualien is blessed with a unique natural environment, with pure water sources and fertile land that nurture fresh, delicious agricultural products. This event not only allows visitors to enjoy seasonal foods but also offers a deeper experience of local rural culture, letting them taste the fresh sweetness of Guangfu bamboo shoots. Everyone is welcome to take this opportunity to visit Hualien's Guangfu Township and experience the agricultural tourism fun of "harvesting, playing with, and eating bamboo shoots."
A seasonal delicacy from the original homeland, "bamboo shoots," will be showcased at the Taipei City Zoo Plaza on March 30th. The event will invite pandas Yuan Yuan, Yuan Zi, and Yuan Bao to help promote bamboo shoots. Through food and agriculture education games, participants can enjoy indigenous-style roasted bamboo shoots, salted pork, and experience bamboo crafts and rattan weaving with local indigenous artisans. This offers a chance to learn more about the unique cultural industries of the indigenous people of the region. The event invites Taipei residents to join in, experience the deliciousness of bamboo shoots, and appreciate the diverse culinary possibilities, allowing this treasure from Taiwan’s land to shine brightly in the city.
