(中央社訊息服務20240918 11:17:41)Hualien remains as beautiful as ever! In an effort to cultivate local musical and dance talent, the Alefis Cultural Arts Troupe, supported by the Hualien County Government, will be launching the first-ever free performances of Fangcalay. Hualien, from now until October 31. These performances, held daily from PM 4 to 5 at the Taiwan Indigenous Peoples Cultural Center in Hualien County, aim to showcase the unique cultural heritage of the region. County Mayor Hsu Chen-Wei warmly invites everyone to come and enjoy this cultural feast.
“Fangcalay,” which means “beautiful” in the Pangcah language, reflects the spirit of this event. The Hualien County Government is proud to promote the rich traditions and artistry of indigenous cultures, with the hope of attracting more visitors to experience the beauty and depth of this culturally rich land. Originally a 50-minute ticketed performance, Panzalai. Hualien is now being offered free of charge until the end of October, as a gesture of appreciation to the local community and in support of county-wide cultural initiatives. We encourage all art and culture enthusiasts not to miss this rare opportunity.
Fangcalay. Hualien is a captivating production that blends music, dance, and theater. Drawing on the Pangcah people as its central theme, the performance also incorporates elements from six indigenous groups of Hualien. Audiences will have the chance to witness traditional indigenous dances, songs, and storytelling, set against the backdrop of Hualien’s unique cultural and historical landscape. The Alefis Cultural Arts Troupe consists of professional indigenous performers from Hualien. Through extensive collaboration with local communities, field research, and a professional artistic approach to lighting and staging, the troupe brings to life the rich cultural creativity of the region. Past performances, both ticketed and in local villages, have been met with enthusiastic praise from audiences.
Director-General Tuku Sayuen of the Hualien County Government’s Indigenous Peoples Department expressed great excitement for this first free performance series by the Alefis Cultural Arts Troupe. He emphasized that the event not only promotes and preserves Hualien’s indigenous culture nationwide but also showcases the resilience and strength of the region.
